Haroon Hameed, MD

Haroon Hameed is an Interventional Pain Physician that was born and raised in West Virginia, though he spent a lot of time in New York during his childhood. After medical school, he did 2 years of residency in General Surgery, followed by two years of research at Johns Hopkins in Peripheral Nerve Regeneration. During this time, he developed an interest in Interventional Pain Management subsequently completing a residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, followed by a Pain Medicine fellowship also at The Johns Hopkins Hospital.

In the past, he practiced at Kure Pain Management for several years and now returns to Kure Smart Pain Management after practicing in Florida. He has been very active in leadership roles in medicine and has worked closely with many committees and/or the Board of Directors of the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians and the North American Neuromodulation Society. He was also President of the Maryland State Medical Society (MedChi) Resident and Fellow Section as a fellow at Hopkins. He has served as a Delegate or Alternate Delegate to the American Medical Association’s House of Delegates, and/or Specialty and Service Section for most of the last 10 years. He has also authored dozens of peer-reviewed publications and book chapters and has presented scientific lectures at many national meetings.
