Dr. Charles Kersten, MD, JD brings a unique blend of medical and legal expertise to Clearway Pain Solutions’ Maryland offices. He has a track record of delivering comprehensive pain management care, deeply informed by a thorough understanding of patient needs and healthcare policy.
Dr. Kersten earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine, where he was distinguished with the highest evaluation possible during his medical student performance review. He completed his residency in anesthesiology at the McGaw Medical Center at Northwestern University and further specialized in pain management through a fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco, Department of Anesthesiology.
Prior to his medical career, Dr. Kersten received a Juris Doctorate from Yale Law School, graduating with honors that reflect his deep commitment to learning and excellence. His legal background includes serving as a Special Attorney and Assistant General Counsel for the Department of Justice, where he litigated on behalf of the United States.
