Dr. Melat Gebre completed her training in both Anesthesiology and Interventional Pain Management. After graduating summa cum laude from Howard University she earned her medical degree from Emory School of Medicine and stayed at Emory to complete her Anesthesiology Residency. At Emory, Dr. Gebre was awarded the Ahmet Sezgin resident teaching award and was selected as a resident scholar to participate in the Foundation for Anesthesia Education and Research (FAER). Dr. Gebre went on to publish over 10 manuscripts, present 12 research presentations at both national and regional medical conferences, and author a book chapter.
Dr. Gebre continued her studies in Interventional Pain at the prestigious University of California San Diego fellowship program where she was trained in cutting edge interventional therapies and gained extensive experience in both outpatient and inpatient pain management.
Dr. Gebre approaches pain management with a multi-modal and holistic approach. She believes that it is vital to treat a patient as a whole person rather than just focusing on an illness or diagnosis. Dr. Gebre is very invested in the overall well-being of her patients and approaches each patient with individualized and compassionate care.
