Board-Certified Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and Pain Medicine Physician
Dr. Michael Rozak is a board-certified, fellowship-trained interventional pain physician specializing in comprehensive, minimally invasive treatment of spine, musculoskeletal, and neuropathic pain. He is board-certified in both Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and Pain Medicine and completed his residency and Pain Medicine fellowship at Emory University.
Dr. Rozak takes a patient-centered, evidence-based approach to pain management, with an emphasis on understanding each patient as a whole. He believes effective treatment requires looking beyond a diagnosis or imaging study and understanding how pain affects a patient’s physical function, work, family, and overall quality of life. He works closely with patients to develop individualized treatment plans focused on restoring function and helping them return to the activities that matter most.
His clinical expertise includes advanced interventional and minimally invasive procedures such as epidural steroid injections, facet and sacroiliac joint interventions, radiofrequency ablation, minimally invasive lumbar decompression, basivertebral nerve ablation, sacroiliac joint fusion, vertebral augmentation, neuromodulation, ultrasound-guided musculoskeletal and peripheral nerve procedures, EMG and nerve conduction studies, Botox therapy, treatment of trigeminal neuralgia, and regenerative and orthobiologic therapies.
Dr. Rozak has a particular interest in advanced neuromodulation. During his practice in Nevada, he performed the first implantation of the Senza HFX iQ spinal cord stimulation system in Reno, Nevada, reflecting his commitment to incorporating innovative technologies into the treatment of chronic pain.
Dr. Rozak completed his Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation residency and Pain Medicine fellowship at Emory University, where he served as Chief Resident and was recognized multiple times as Resident of the Year. He has remained actively involved in education and research, with peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, and national presentations covering interventional pain, neuromodulation, orthobiologics, vertebrogenic pain, opioid reduction strategies, orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions, and interventional cancer pain management.
Before medical school, Dr. Rozak attended the University of Maryland, College Park, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a focus in Neurophysiology and a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology & Criminal Justice. He was a four-year captain of the University of Maryland varsity baseball team and was recognized for his academic achievements with All-ACC Academic Team and CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District honors.
Dr. Rozak’s philosophy of patient care is deeply influenced by his family. His sister had cerebral palsy and autism and was wheelchair-bound throughout her life. Growing up with her gave him an early understanding of the importance of listening to patients and families and recognizing that a person’s medical condition is only one part of who they are. This experience continues to shape his approach to caring for patients and reinforces his belief in treating the whole person rather than simply treating an imaging finding or diagnosis.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Rozak is a devoted husband to his wife, Laurie, and father of four children, all born approximately one year apart (“4 under 4”). He enjoys being actively involved in his children’s lives and coaches youth sports locally. His longstanding involvement in athletics has included coaching baseball, working with young athletes, and volunteering as a coach for The Miracle League, which provides children with disabilities the opportunity to participate in baseball. He remains an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates and enjoys exploring the outdoor activities Florida offers.
Dr. Rozak is committed to combining advanced interventional techniques and innovative treatments with compassionate, individualized care. He believes the best outcomes come from pairing clinical expertise with something equally important: taking the time to listen to patients and understand what matters most to them.
