Dr. Wai-Leong Foo has been a board-certified physician specializing in interventional spine since 2011. Since joining Clearway Pain Solutions in 2014, he has been dedicated to providing exceptional care to patients seeking relief from various painful conditions, including neck, back, and joint pain, neuropathy and headaches. He served as the Vice President of Medical Affairs in 2018 before being appointed Chief Medical Officer in 2020. In this role, he collaborates with a team to ensure the highest level of patient care and innovative pain management solutions.
Dr. Foo completed his medical degree at LECOM and was inducted into the Sigma Sigma Phi Honor Society. He completed his residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R) at NYU Langone Medical Center, ranked among the top 5 rehabilitation hospitals in the country. During his residency, Dr. Foo served as a floor chief resident at both Bellevue Hospital and Manhattan VA Hospital before completing his interventional spine fellowship, gaining specialized training in various minimally invasive treatments including nerve ablation, spinal cord stimulation and lumbar decompression.
He is a member of prominent medical organizations, including the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the Spine Intervention Society. He has also served as a medical consultant for a national multidisciplinary health organization, contributing his expertise beyond his immediate patient care.
With a heart for teaching, Dr. Foo has led seminars on various pain topics with other healthcare professionals and mentored students interested in pain management. He enjoys sharing his expertise with patients, empowering them to understand their conditions and treatment options, enabling them to participate in their healthcare decisions.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Foo finds joy and balance through various hobbies, including travel, photography, and scuba diving. He cherishes spending quality time with his wife and two boys.
