Dr. William Newton is a board-certified physician specializing in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation with additional certification in Pain Medicine. He brings over two decades of clinical expertise in managing complex pain conditions using a full spectrum of interventional and medical pain management techniques.
A U.S. Army veteran, Dr. Newton completed his residency and served as Chief Resident at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, where he also held academic appointments with the Uniformed Services University. Following his military service, he served in multiple leadership roles, including Medical Director at several spine and pain centers in Tennessee.
Dr. Newton’s procedural skillset includes advanced therapies such as spinal cord stimulation, vertebral augmentation (kyphoplasty), SI joint fusion, MILD, interspinous spacers, and peripheral nerve stimulation. He is also a published researcher in the field of neuromodulation and a consultant and speaker for several leading medical device companies.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Newton has taught at institutions such as Vanderbilt Medical School and the DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine. He has been recognized multiple times as a “Top Doctor” and maintains active membership in professional organizations such as the American Academy of Pain Medicine and the North American Neuromodulation Society.
Dr. Newton is currently seeing patients at Clearway Pain Solutions in Sarasota, Florida, where he is committed to helping individuals regain function and quality of life through compassionate, evidence-based care.
